The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) serves Richmond, VA. The weekday schedule has 3,000 vehicle trips. The agency’s transit system has 43 routes and 2,600 stops.

RSM Services installed Ridecheck Plus software in June 2008. The system handles both APC data from 78 buses and AVL data from the entire fleet of 200 vehicles. The system has accumulated 400,000 ridechecks and 1.8 million AVLchecks as of November 2011. About 800 ridechecks are added to the SQL Server database each evening. There are 28 users of Ridecheck Plus.

Ridecheck Plus receives scheduling information from the agency’s Hastus system at the start of a booking or when a booking changes.

GRTC staff use the GIS Module of Ridecheck Plus for geographic analysis of boardings, alightings and loads.
